French Immersion Program
Our French Immersion Program is designed for non-Francophones. Students develop the ability to communicate socially and professionally in French. Graduates of the program can pursue employment or continue with French in college or university. Fluency in a second language opens up additional opportunities for travel, studies and career choices.
Students may enroll for the French Immersion Program in kindergarten or at the beginning of grade 1. Parents are not required to speak French or come from a French background to enroll their child.
We offer the French Immersion Program in four of our schools. For more information, visit each of the school sites:
- École Beausejour Early Years School (K to grade 6)
- École Edward-Schreyer School (grade 7 to grade 12)
- École Dugald School* (K to grade 8)
- École Powerview School (K to grade 12)
*Students in grades 9 – 12 may continue their French Immersion Program at College Pierre Elliot Trudeau which is part of the River East Transcona School Division.
