Policy #22: Senior Administration Contract Negotiations

Purpose 

To ensure the smooth negotiation process with senior administration positions of Sunrise School Division. 

 

Scope 

This policy applies only to the senior administration positions of Superintendent, Assistant-Superintendent, and Secretary-Treasurer. 

 

Timing 

Negotiations will apply to new hires and/or re-negotiation of conditions/terms of contracts prior to their expiration date. In the latter case, re-negotiations should commence six (6) months prior to the end date of their salary grid. 

 

Superintendent 

A negotiation committee will consist of no more than four (4) trustees, one of which is the Board Chair (or designate) and the MSBA Labor Relations Consultant. 

 

Assistant-Superintendent and Secretary-Treasurer 

A negotiation committee will consist of no more than four (4) trustees, one of which is the Board Chair (or designate), the Superintendent of Sunrise School Division, and the Manitoba School Boards Association (MSBA) Labour Relations Consultant. 

 

Process 

The committee will meet and determine the process for each position based on each set of unique circumstances.
