SCI Pancake Breakfast

Proceeds help support the Springfield Food Bank.  $1400 was donated this year.

SCI JV Boys AAA Provincial Volleyball CHAMPIONS!

The SCI JV Boys won the AAA Provincial Championship in Neepawa this past weekend. They finished third in Power Pool 1 in Round Robin and then went on a run in the playoffs, defeating Linden Christian in the quarter final, Edward Schreyer in the semi-final and Steinbach Christian in the Final. Congratulations SCI!

Sidra Lenartowich, from École Edward Schreyer School, delivers lunch that she prepared through her work experience program at Ursula and Co. Bakehouse. Sidra is flanked by Educational Assistant, Carrie Wojcik and business owner, Ursula Doelger.

There are many businesses across Sunrise School Division that support work experience initiatives such as these.

If you’re not from Brightstone Colony……

Springwell School students and Principal George Waldner presented their new book: If You're Not From Brightstone Colony….. to Superintendent Trevor Reid and Trustees Dustin Dent, Don Nichol, Alicia Smith, Donna Wilson and Robin Harris.

The students took pictures of their favorite things about Brightstone and Springwell and used the format from the David Bouchard book “If You’re Not From the Prairie….” to create a wonderful book that they were very proud to share.

They also guided a tour of all the facilities including the tunnels!

20251219 All Schools and Sites Closed Today, Buses Not Running

After the blizzard conditions yesterday, many back roads across all regions of Sunrise School Division remain unplowed. This makes bus operations challenging and potentially unsafe for students. As a result, all school buses will not be running today and all schools in the division are closed. If you require further information on Sunrise weather procedures, please see our web site at sunrisesd.ca and look for Weather under the Parents tab. We thank you for your understanding and we wish all our families a safe and enjoyable holiday season.
