Student Services

At Sunrise, we prepare your child for the future with the knowledge, skills and values to achieve their personal goals. In so doing, we are committed to creating safe, inclusive and caring learning environments. As mandated by Manitoba Education and Training, Sunrise School Division adopts the province’s philosophy of inclusion and follows the recommendations in Manitoba’s Public Schools Act - Appropriate Educational Programming.

Appropriate educational programming begins in the classroom with you, your child and the classroom teacher. Resource teachers, guidance counsellors, talent development teachers, alternative education teachers, reading recovery and literacy support teachers, all form the student services teams in each school that support teaching and learning. A full-service clinician team consisting of Occupational and Physical Therapists, Psychologists, School Social Workers and Speech-Language Pathologists are available to provide specialized assessment if necessary and support the educational development of all students.

In Student Services we offer a variety of programming and initiatives specifically aimed at developing your child’s individual skills and potential.  For more information, please visit the Student Services page.
