Internal Awards – SCI Graduation Awards
Scholarship Details/Criteria

Outstanding achievement in Pre-Calculus Math 40S and Physics 40S, preferably for a student entering Engineering. Application is attached.


​Awarded to a deserving graduating student on the basis of satisfactory grades, financial need and potential for academic success. Available to students entering college or university in Manitoba on a full time basis.

The Ashley Schlag Memorial Scholarship consists of two distinct awards. One award is designated for a girl who is or has been involved with the Regional/National Development Center program with the Manitoba Soccer Association and the other is designated for a girl, active in team sports who will be graduating from Springfield Collegiate Institute in Oakbank, Manitoba.

Award recipients will be chosen based on a set criteria focusing on the applicant’s character, involvement in sport, and financial need. A full description of the criteria for each award can be found on the Rules and Regulations pages for the respective awards.

  • graduating SCI student that has attended SCI for grades 9-12
  • pursuing accountancy studies at a Canadian University or College following graduation
  • a strong interest in business
  • demonstrated good character and an excellent work ethic
  • leadership qualities demonstrated by significant contribution in the community, school or in sports
  • have financial need
  • provide proof of registration at a Canadian University or College​

​Awarded to a male or femal student with intentions on attending College in September 2017.

-Must be enrolled as a full time student in a program of one year or more

-Must be a resident of the RM of Springfield

-Must have been a student of Springfield Collegiate Institute for the past two years.​

  • The Sunrise Teachers’ Association Awards Committee is encouraged to consider students who have indicated an interest in or who will be pursuing a degree in education.
  • The student has demonstrated excellent communication skills, interpersonal skills, leadership abilities and a love of learning.
  • The student has participated in school activities and is involved in the community.
  • The award may be deferred and held in trust for up to 12 months pending receipt of registration from the post-secondary institution.


​Purpose of bursary is to assist with expense of post-secondary education. Students should demonstrate service to their school and community, financial need, have satisfactory academic achievement and potential for academic success. Can be used for any degree or diploma course at any post secondary institution in Manitoba.


Sense of humour, friendly to all students and staff.

Final grade is not a criteria, however the student should be one that takes initiative and shows solid effort in their academic studies.

Consistently displays and supports school spirit.

Is not a member of Student Council


​Awarded to a student who will be attending a Manitoba College or University in September. Applicants must have good academic standing, financial need, and qualities of leadership.

​Awarded to a graduating student of Springfield Collegiate who achieves satisfactory grades, who will go that extra mile to help someone in need, and who shows care and compassion to others. Preference will be given to students entering a mental health-related field.

Please submit your name to a Counsellor by May 15/17 if you wish to be considered for this award.

1) A grade 12 student who is continuing on to post secondary studies in the fall following graduation at SCI
2) Has demonstrated participation in sport
3) Is involved in the school and/or community beyond sports
4) An average of 80% or more in grade 12
Note:  Preference may be given to students who are considering Education as a future career choice

​Students who demonstrate need of financial assistance and who are continuing on to higher education. They must be a permanent resident of Manitoba and also be either an ex-service member, or a son, daughter, grandchild, great grandchild etc, of an ex-service member or of a deceased ex-service member.

  • ​satisfactory academic achievement (average of 60-75%) and potential for academic success
  • demonstrated interest in career
  • financial need may be considered
  • proof of application at the post-secondary institution of choice
  • preference may be given to a deserving student not receiving other major awards

Print off the attached application, complete it, and return to a Guidance Counsellor by April 20th, 2017.

Student must be entering either a post-secondary educational, professional, trade, vocational institution, or an apprenticeship program. Bursaries will be awarded on the basis of: educational achievement,  involvement in community and school activities/programs, and financial need.
