What is Talent Development?

Talent devlopment is a program that provides opportunities to devlop skill and aptitude in an area of interest. This might mean participaing in a club, workshop, or working with a mentor. If you have an area of interest or ability you want to explore, please contact Mr. Humphries or C. Harasymec.

ArtSpeak

If you have ability in the arts then ArtSpeak might be for you. Talk to a Talent Development teacher for more information. The 2011 applications are now available.

 Video Club

The video club meets every Thursday at lunch in room 34. This is a great opportunity for those interested in film making. To be part of the club you must define a project idea and then Mr. Humphries and Mr. Thiessen will provide technical support.

Guitar Players

GUITAR PLAYERS!!! This one is for you! Do you play guitar? Are you just learning how to play guitar? Ever wish you could get together with other guitar players to learn their techniques, but feel you might not be good enough? Well if so, we want you!

SCI Guitar Workshop will be held on Tuesdays at lunch in the Band room. Each week you will be able to pick up a new technique, or if you feel confident enough, you can show the rest of the group your special technique.  Topics we plan to cover are: strumming techniques, soloing tips/tricks, guitar maintenance, tuning, chord tricks, tips for Jamming with others, playing styles etc. Bring your acoustic guitar, electric guitar ??? whatever??? (just make sure you bring an amp if you are bringing your electric)

If you???re interested, please come see Mr. Thiessen in the band room at LUNCH on Tuesdays.
