Physics is the investigation of physical events, a study of the relationships that exist within our physical world. Topics in this course include motion, waves, light, sound, gravity, electricity, and magnetism. Students will be challenged to interpret the universe in a meaningful way and to increase their skills in problem solving using mathematics as their tool.

PHYSICS 40S

Students will continue to investigate physical phenomena through a more detailed study of many of the topics previously presented. Students will draw on skills previously acquired in the 40S course as they work with somewhat more abstract topics.

Chemistry 40S

The major topics covered are: Electronic Structure, Bonding and The Periodic Table, Reaction Rate and Equilibrium, Ionic Equilibria and Acids and Bases, Solubility, and Oxidation and Reduction. The prerequisite for Chemistry 40S is Chemistry 30S.

Chemistry 30S

The areas of study are: Physical Properties of Matter, Gases and the Atmosphere, Chemical Reactions, Solutions, and Organic Chemistry.

Science 20F

The course is divided into four major areas. Biology: Dynamics of Ecosystems, Chemistry: Chemistry in Action, Physics: In Motion, and Meteorology: Weather Dynamics.

Science 10F

The course is divided into four major areas. Biology: Reproduction, Chemistry: Atoms and Elements, Physics: Nature of Electricity, and Astronomy: Exploration of the Universe.
